    Marjorie as Master Coach will….

    • Outline her model of coach supervision
    • Give examples of supervision work
    • Demonstrate her supervision style with a participant
    • Discuss and debate theoretical and practitioner issues

    Part 2: 2 – 4.30pm

    Facilitated Peer Practice Groups

This is your opportunity, in a small facilitated peer group, to discuss the impact of the Master Coach input on your own theoretical and philosophical approach.

There will then be time to practice coaching supervision with some of the techniques and methodologies that have been illustrated by Marjorie.

    Masterclass Subject

One of the exciting trends in coaching over the last 5 years has been the drive for best practice. This combines the quality assurance that the services being provided are delivered within a best practice framework and that the coaches involved are being sustained and developed. Supervision for coaches plays a key role - not only offering quality control for organisations but by offering a supportive contractual relationship with the coach which addresses their continued personal and professional development. Supervision in the helping professions has been well established for a number of years and while there are clear areas of transfer of learning, it is incumbent on the coaching community to develop their own definitions, models and theories of Coaching Supervision.

Supervision offers a multi perspective view – generating different frames which the coach uses to further understand the both the client system and themselves as part of the client/coach system.

In this Masterclass, Marjorie will present her own model of supervision which draws on coaching and psychotherapeutic methodology as well as her own extensive experience of being a supervisee as well as an executive coach and coach supervisor.

Biography

Marjorie has 30 years experience developing individuals and teams in organisations and managing change programmes in the US, Canada and the UK. Her early interest in supervision came from her first career in social work and psychotherapy where supervision was always a reflective space which offered challenge, support and new learning. A move back to the UK and a desire to work differently brought Marjorie into the business world 10 years ago. She has worked with John Leary-Joyce from the early days of the AEC and has promoted supervision and the psychology of coaching as development areas within the coaching community. She enjoys a mixed portfolio of executive coaching, individual and group supervision and coach development
