Master Practitioner in Executive Coaching

For highly experienced coaches who have the potential and commitment to join the top flight.  With the option of gaining a Masters Degree accredited by the Professional Development Foundation (PDF) and Middlesex University.

An exciting and diverse programme delivered over 15 months that will strengthen and deepen your practice to master practitioner level, consistent with the International Coach Federation’s (ICF) Master Credentialed Coach (MCC) level of practice.

The PDF have an Accreditation of Prior Learning unit which allows you to accrue the required number of credits through continuous professional development.

The ICF MCC requires 200 hours of ‘tutor-facilitated’ training. The MPP provides a minimum of 123, and if you have completed the Advanced Diploma, you already have 127 toward this total. You will also need to pass the ICF MCC exam.

Accredited by Middlesex University

Who is it for?

Advanced level coaches with significant experience working with senior executives in organizational settings who are ready to build their knowledge and skills and make a significant contribution to improving practice and raising the level of achievement in the Coaching community.

In addition you will need a true dedication to self-reflection; a willingness to both give and receive high quality feedback; a genuine desire to develop yourself and commitment to the learning of all your peer group of learners.

What does it deliver?

The Programme sets out to facilitate:

  • Honing and extending your coaching skills and capability;
  • Benchmarking, testing and refining your coaching model;
  • Developing a Signature Presence – stretching into uncharted areas;
  • Expanding your knowledge in applying coaching in different business/leadership contexts;
  • Enhancing your credibility as an executive coach.

Structure and Style

It is a journey in which you initially identify your development needs, then, in conjunction with your faculty and fellow learners – the ‘community of practice’ – you execute your learning plan. Each plan will be different because each journey is different, echoing the journey of the client or coachee.

The learning from the Programme is a developmental journey, where you learn experientially and reflect on your learning as you progress. You take a great deal of responsibility for your own learning, using the resources, materials and support provided.

The programme draws on a combination of learning methods:

  • Experiential learning: learning by doing and reflecting on the work on an ongoing basis in the supervision sessions
  • Input from expert practitioners: Masterclass sessions provide input and opportunities for discussion and comparison
  • Self-managed and self-directed learning: the Learning Journal documents development and learning and provides participants with the opportunity for reflection and ongoing self-assessment
  • Learning from other learners: discussion, peer assessment and feedback are essential developmental components
  • Being Assistant Faculty on either the AEC’s Diploma or Advanced Diploma programme
  • Learning from external sources: participants are encouraged to reflect on and improve their coaching practice from coaching commercial clients
  • One-to-one tutorials: learning is supported by tuition, supervision and rigorous feedback from faculty members
