Supervision

Group and Individual Supervision is available for ALL levels of Coaches facilitated by qualified Coach Supervisors.

Many coaches, coach training institutes and commissioners of coaches now recognise supervision as an important component of an effective coaching process. Both The Association for Coaching and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council have recognised the value of supervision by incorporating the need for such into their codes of ethics. Increasingly organisations require their external coaches to be receiving supervision.

Supervision is a way for YOU as Coach to:

  • Ensure that the coach is addressing the needs of the client
  • Monitor the relationship between the coach and client and to maximise the effectiveness of the relationship
  • Ensure that ethical standards are adhered to
  • Provide opportunities for personal development on the part of the coach
  • Support the continuing development of the coach

Objectives of the AEC Supervision

  1. To support the development of the coach
  2. To support clients and their work through the supervisory process
  3. To develop new insights, tools and techniques for coaching interventions
  4. To raise awareness of personal issues and how they may limit your effectiveness

Supervision Groups

Using the group format to understand the personal and systemic dynamics involved, AEC Supervision Groups provide you with opportunities to:

  1. Bring client issues that may be confusing or complicated using the supervisory / coaching skills of the facilitator and group to understand the personal and systemic dynamics involved.
  2. Deepen understanding of self and how your own limitations can inhibit the development of the client system.
  3. Explore the coach-client dynamic and deepen and broaden the range of ways of working with your client.
  4. Explore the supervisor-coach dynamic and understand and learn from the nature of the parallel process.
  5. Deepen your understanding of self in contact with your coachees.
