Champion Coach

Overview

A 7 day programme to develop people as part-time 1:1 coaches within their organisation.

Who is it for?
Champion Coach is for organisations wanting to develop their capability for in-house coaching.

It is intended for HR professionals and experienced managers who are ready to unlock their coaching potential and build the skills they need to become a practicing coach.

What does it deliver?
The programme provides participants with the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to structure and facilitate 1:1 coaching sessions.

By the end of the programme they will be able to provide 1:1 coaching focussing on performance, development of potential and supporting others to more effectively achieve their objectives.

Scope
The programme covers all stages of 1:1 performance coaching practice, enabling people to:

  • Manage the essential processes that surround coaching – agreeing the 'coaching contract' and managing stakeholders and boundaries
  • Structure and deliver 1:1 coaching sessions with requisite skill and confidence
  • Draw upon a significant body of psychologically grounded coaching skills to promote the achievement of performance targets and stimulate coachee development
  • Hold a context and focus on outcomes • Know when to coach and when not to coach
  • Develop self-awareness and how to avoid the temptation to advise, solve or help
  • Understand ethical guidelines and standards

Structure and style
The programme is structured as three 2-day modules and one day of group practice and assessment. Participants are also supported with individual tutorials between each module.

The style is highly experiential and the overall process is designed to enable participants to experiment, to accept challenges and to develop new skills and techniques. These are practiced in coaching triads with coach, coachee and observer.

Accreditation
Middlesex University, EMCC, ICF ACSTH, AC recognised course.
