When Resilience Goes
Resilience research has largely focused on why some people will face life difficulties
and trauma, and emerge intact, while others will be scarred. What is noticeable
in the literature is that relatively little attention has been given to the loss
of resilience within work.
Carole Pemberton, from
Coaching to Solutions, and Lindsey Wittenberg are running two Open
Programmes on career coaching skills for resilience in 2011 for which AoEC graduates and students are offered a special discounted rate. Please contact Carole directly for more details.
Carole Pemberton is a graduate of the AoEC’s
Advanced
Practitioner Diploma.

True or False: 50% of Organisation's Resilience Dependent on Senior Team's
Resilience?
Is this number too high? And what does the resilience of a team mean anyway? How
does it link the individual members’ resilience? How does it link into the rest
of the organisation? What helps build and support it?
Jenny Campbell, from Lifetimeswork, is
setting out on a 2nd stage of research into these questions and looking to enlist
25-30 co-researchers to help research over 50 senior teams. The mobilisation phase
starts now, with the research being carried out in cohorts of 8-10 coaches. Research
will start in the autumn of 2011; the whole programme is likely to last around 2
years. The EMCC is also recruiting co-researchers into this programme. All co-researchers
will be accredited in the final publication; copyright for all research will be
held by Lifetimeswork.
If you are interested in becoming a co-researcher, please
contact Jenny directly to participate in the study.
Jenny is a graduate of the AoEC on a variety of programmes, most recently the Gestalt Coaching Diploma.
