We are delighted to announce the next generation of coach development: the AoEC Professional Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching. For 2024, entry to this programme is available exclusively to graduates of the AoEC Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching.
This programme is truly global, bringing diverse perspectives to your coaching practice. We’ve helped you to become the coach that you want to be through the Practitioner Diploma, and now you will be able to develop your practice and take your coaching to the next level with unique insights from AoEC global faculty.

About the Professional Practitioner Diploma
The Professional Practitioner Diploma moves beyond coaching tools and techniques to develop your transformational coaching presence, relationships, and ethics in response to the social, cultural, and ecological realities of the 21st Century.
The programme builds on your foundational coach training by deepening the exploration of, ‘Who am I?', and 'How do I coach?’ through five key themes:
- Coaching the Client in Context
- Holding Space
- Coaching Presence
- Coaching the Whole Client
- Being Human
Our innovative content has been developed in collaboration with AoEC global faculty, who will facilitate ten live workshops over a five month period. You will benefit from the expertise, experience and diverse perspectives of practising coaches from around the world, as well as peer coaching practice, mentor coaching and supervision, and bespoke webinar recordings.
This unique programme concludes with an AoEC assessment day in month six, where you will share your learning with peers and faculty through a live presentation (including an ethics case study) and a coaching demonstration.
The Professional Practitioner Diploma takes you above and beyond the Practitioner Diploma, and together with your initial coach training it is designed to meet the education hours, mentor coaching, and performance evaluation requirements for the ICF PCC credential.
This programme will be submitted for ICF accreditation following the completion of the pilot in spring 2024 and - subject to ICF approval - you will graduate from an ICF Level 2 programme.
Currently the programme provides 75 coach education hours, including 10 hours of mentor coaching, from the AoEC. These hours can be used towards your accreditation with a professional coaching body of your choice, including an ICF credential via the portfolio route, or for renewal of a current coach accreditation.
Programme aim
The Professional Practitioner Diploma deepens the exploration of, ‘Who am I?', and 'How do I coach?’, reflects on the role of the coach in a relational, organisational, and societal context and challenges you to bring the whole field into your unique signature presence, coaching practice, and professional ethics.
Who this programme is for
Entry to the programme commencing April 2024 is available exclusively to graduates of the AoEC Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching. If you have completed an ICF Level 1 or ACSTH programme with another coach training provider, you may be eligible to join the next programme cohort.
As a candidate for the Professional Practitioner Diploma, you will be looking to enhance your coaching practice and deepen your awareness of your presence as a coach. You will be committed to your professional development, and you may be preparing to apply for your ICF PCC credential.

How you learn
The Professional Practitioner Diploma provides six days of coaching education over six months. This takes the form of five days of workshops and group mentor coaching over a five month period, followed by a group assessment day in month six.
Your learning is supported by peer coaching practice, 1:1 mentor coaching and supervision, pre-recorded webinars and supplemented by your own self-study with at least 10 hours of client practice. Preparation for the assessment day includes writing both a reflective essay and a presentation which integrates your learning from the programme.
Delivery method
This programme is run virtually via Zoom.
To graduate from the Professional Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching, you are required to attend and complete all aspects of the programme and pass the three components of the assessment. The coaching demonstration will be assessed against the ICF PCC markers.

Dumi Magadlela
Dumi Magadlela is an accredited international executive coach, team coach, coach trainer, leadership development facilitator, organizational ‘people whisperer’, and African skills development practitioner. He is based Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a regularly featured speaker and panellist on coaching, leadership, and people development. He is an author on executive coaching, coaching approaches, ubuntu values, and people development. Dumi co-founded the Ubuntu Coaching Foundation (UCF) at The Coaching Centre (TCC) in South Africa where he has been part of Senior Faculty for over twelve years. He delivers a module on “Coaching in the African Context” at the Integral Africa Coaching Centre. Dumi is part-time faculty at the University of Stellenbosch Business School’s MPhil in Management Coaching. He has vast experience working across the African continent and collaborating with other coaches globally. He currently serves as a Trustee on the Board of the International Coaching Federation Foundation (ICF-F). Dumi is part of an international faculty at the WBECS’ Global Team Coaching Institute (GTCI). He is accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) as a Senior Practitioner in Team Coaching. Dumi’s coaching and way of being is influenced by the same principles that Nelson Mandela lived by, that of Ubuntu (meaning: “I am because we are”). Gamze Acar Bayraktaroğlu is an experienced leadership trainer of 24 years, internationally accredited EIA Master Coach and has been coaching executives and teams for 15 years. Gamze is also ESIA accredited coach/mentor supervisor, an EMCC's coach assessor and co-author of a book called- MANAGERS AS COACHES. She has deep experience in facilitating leadership, teambuilding, coaching and mentoring skills trainings. Gamze is in the global trainers team of New Haven from NY, USA and Demos-Hemsley Fraser from Germany and Talentis from France. She is one of the global coaches of Human Systems from UK and PeakInsight from USA and part of World Bank’s coach and facilitator pool. Based in Wales, George is an ICF accredited executive coach, facilitator and consultant. After a year living in Argentina, George enjoyed nine years in senior management positions in the travel industry. It was here that he noticed that, each time after being coached, he felt unstoppable, that he could tackle any problem. Following up his interest, he studied and practiced coaching, enjoying the challenge of introducing a coaching culture and style to businesses. It was while attending the AoEC’s Practitioner Diploma programme that he realised coaching was in his bones. He set up his own practice shortly after graduating, and hasn’t looked back since. An internationalist at heart, George loves nothing more than understanding different cultures and approaches. He has coached clients across Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australasia and Africa. Joan’s life purpose is to create intimate environments so that people thrive. This acts as her north star in all her work and interactions with others. She has extensive experience in working with organizations as a senior manager, executive and as a consultant. She has specialised in leadership and talent since 2001 and been an executive coach for over 15 years. Prior to her consulting experience, Joan has enjoyed an eclectic career spanning Marketing, Operations, HR & Communications. Her expertise lies in working with teams and individuals in creating bespoke solutions to specific people needs that range from enhancing team effectiveness through building more trust and intimacy to creating and implementing people capability frameworks to develop desired skills in organisational transformations. She has extensive experience of working in the field of diversity and inclusion to facilitate the development of less favoured groups within organisations. “My role as AoEC faculty allows me to combine my experience in coaching with my enthusiasm for supporting people in their professional development and personal awareness and change. I bring empathy and insight to working with those in their learning journeys, for them to find their ideal coaching model and approach.” Originally qualifying and practising as a solicitor, John has also worked at the at the Quaker United Nations Office in Geneva, in grassroots peace-building in Burundi, and establishing and leading a community mediation service. Since 2001 he has been freelance offering organisational consultancy and facilitation, non-managerial supervision, and also latterly coaching. He has developed a number of professional development programmes and initiatives, including supervision skills, effective conflict skills, team building, reflective practice, managing change, and globally responsible leadership skills and practice. His coaching practice is with leaders and leadership teams, in a wide range of local, national and international organisations. John is our CEO and founded the Academy of Executive Coaching in 1999 with one administrator and over the years recruited and collaborated with many talented directors, trainers & administrators to develop AoEC into the prestigious brand it is today. With his tireless entrepreneurial spirit AoEC has become a highly successful international coaching training organisation with professional accreditation from ICF, EMCC, & AC. Previously, he was MD of Gestalt Centre London growing the business fourfold in six years and gaining a Company Director diploma with the Institute of Directors. John is a highly principled leader, drawing on and applying his experience from a long career as a Gestalt psychotherapist, executive and team coach, trainer and supervisor. He is Past President of EMCC UK where his focus was on maintaining standards for coaching and mentoring and building collaboration between the different professional bodies. In 2010 he founded with Peter Hawkins the Systemic Team Coaching programmes. Who will be on this programme?
The programme commencing April 2024 is available exclusively to graduates of the AoEC Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching.
What language will the programme be taught in?
This programme will be delivered in English.
If you register for the programme with your local AoEC Global Partner the workshops and webinars will be delivered in English, but the rest of the programme may be offered in your local language.
What is the time commitment for the programme?
This programme comprises 75 hours of Continuing Professional Development and at least 10 hours of client practice.
In addition to the six days of coaching education over six months, time commitments include:
- 1 x welcome session
- 10 x pre-recorded webinars
- 5 x peer coaching practice sessions
- 3 x 1:1 mentor coaching + supervision tutorials
- 20 hours of independent study
- 10 hours of client practice (minimum)
Do I have to attend all of the sessions?
Yes, you are required to attend and complete all aspects of the programme, as well as logging your peer coaching practice sessions and independent study hours.
What is the price of this programme and are there any discounts?
This programme is offered at the special price of £3,000 for alumni of AoEC UK Practitioner Diploma programmes.
Pricing may differ in our AoEC Global Partner regions. Please contact your local provider for pricing.
How do I apply?

Is this programme accredited?
This programme provides 75 coach education hours, including 10 hours of mentor coaching, from the AoEC.
It is aligned with ICF PCC standards, and has been designed to meet the requirements of ICF Level 2 when combined with the Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching. The ICF requires one graduating class prior to submitting an accreditation application. We will be submitting our application in spring 2024 and if the application is successful you will graduate from a Level 2 programme, but this cannot be guaranteed.
What time zone will the programme run in?
All workshops will run in the BST/GMT time zone.
If you apply through AoEC UK your peer coaching practice, mentor coaching, and assessment will also be in the BST/GMT time zone.
If you apply via your local AoEC Global Partner your peer coaching practice, mentor coaching, and assessment will be in your local time zone.
I cannot make some of the dates of this programme. When will the programme run again?
We anticipate that the programme will run twice a year. Please contact us for more information and to register your interest.
Is funding available for my Professional Practitioner Diploma training?
Through your own enquiry, your company or other body may fund you for this course, however we do provide interest free payment plans for self-funders, if you wish to pay for the programme in instalments.
NB: If you are self funding the Practitioner Diploma, then there is the option to spread the payments over 6 monthly interest free instalments. When submitting your application, please make sure to select this payment option. An invoice will be sent to you once your application has been processed, and it is required that the first instalment is paid before receiving the course enrolment details. Please note that all payments are subject to VAT.
This formulates a credit agreement for your course participation and requires payment in full before delivery of the final module. The payment plan is not an indication of payment per module, should you no longer be able to proceed with the course as planned, full course fees are still applicable.
