Positive Impact

Our commitment to positive impact

At the Academy of Executive Coaching, we believe that business has a responsibility to contribute positively to society, the environment and the communities it serves.

In July 2026, our B Corp certification reached its expiry and we took the decision not to pursue recertification under B Lab's new standards. This decision reflects how we can best focus our time, energy and resources on creating meaningful impact through our work, rather than through external certification. Our values, commitments and purpose remain unchanged.

We remain committed to operating as a responsible business, supporting people and organisations to create lasting positive change, and embedding social and environmental responsibility into the way we work.

How we create impact

Supporting the fight against modern slavery

Modern slavery remains one of the most significant human rights challenges of our time. For several years, the AoEC has committed time, expertise and resources to supporting organisations working to tackle modern slavery.

Our initiatives include:

  • An annual pro bono Coaching Skills Certificate for staff and volunteers working in modern slavery organisations.
  • Coaching and supervision support for initiatives such as Future Leaders and other organisations working in this field.
  • Awareness raising across our community through webinars, events and learning opportunities.
  • Ongoing engagement with organisations dedicated to prevention, education and support.

We recognise that our greatest contribution is not as frontline practitioners, but through sharing coaching skills, creating dialogue and strengthening the people and organisations leading this work.

Supporting our communities

We believe coaching can be a force for positive change beyond the workplace.

Our people regularly support social and community initiatives through volunteering, fundraising and pro bono activity. Examples include our Walk for Freedom initiative, which raised funds and awareness for Anti-Slavery International, and our volunteering programme which enables colleagues to contribute their skills and time to causes that matter.

Caring for our environment

As an international organisation, we recognise our responsibility to minimise our environmental impact and continually consider how our decisions affect the wider world.

This includes reviewing our business practices, reducing unnecessary environmental impact where possible, encouraging responsible travel and digital working practices, and continuing to explore how coaching can contribute to more sustainable organisations and communities.

We have also supported Climate Coaching Action Day since its inception, helping to bring together coaches, leaders, teams and organisations across the world to engage in meaningful dialogue and action around climate and sustainability issues. Through initiatives such as these, we seek to contribute not only through our own operations, but by supporting broader conversations that enable positive change.

Our commitment to environmental responsibility remains an important part of how we operate.

Building an inclusive and responsible business

We are committed to creating an environment where people feel valued, respected and able to contribute fully.

This includes maintaining ethical business practices, fostering an inclusive culture, promoting fairness and accountability, and ensuring our decisions consider both commercial success and wider societal impact. We publish regular updates on our impact activity and remain committed to continually improving the way we work.

Looking forward

For more than 25 years, the AoEC has helped individuals, teams and organisations unlock their potential while striving to balance people, planet and prosperity. As we look ahead, we remain committed to using coaching as a force for positive change, supporting the communities we serve and continually seeking ways to make a meaningful contribution to society and the world around us.
