Systemic Team Coaching® creates an environment at individual, team and organisational levels where transformational change can happen. 

This three and a half-day experiential programme teaches you how to coach teams to consider both their internal dynamics and external stakeholders, working with the connections and influences within and outside the team. It differs from conventional team development approaches. The programme provides a valuable way of supporting teams to enhance their value creation and realise their potential. It provides you with an immediately applicable framework and process to use in your work with teams.

    About the Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate

    The Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate builds knowledge and awareness of teams through core theory and models, including the SIDER Process and Hawkins’ Five Disciplines, with simulation-based practice and time for reflection. On completing the programme, you receive the Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate.

    If you want to enhance your practice through application of theory to live team coaching cases, learning through peer review, structured group supervision, and observed practice, then you are invited to follow up with the full Systemic Team Coaching® Practitioner Diploma. 

    The Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate is Part 1 of the Systemic Team Coaching® Practitioner Diploma.

    What you will learn

    The core concepts of Systemic Team Coaching ® – this certificate level programme introduces you to the key skills involved in the Systemic Team Coaching process. You will gain an understanding of the Hawkins’ Five Disciplines model and its application to team coaching.

    How to structure team coaching projects using Systemic Team Coaching ® – the hands-on practise will enable you to work with live experiments so that you explore the nature of team and group functioning and how to apply your learning as a systemic team coach.

    The importance of ‘Self as Instrument’ in the Systemic Team Coaching ® role – recognising physical senses, intuition, body as data collector and sense-maker.

    How to use and apply the Team Connect 360 diagnostic tool in client work – you will be licensed to use the tool and gain experience of interpreting a TC360 report.

    How you learn

    The Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate has a preparation webinar to initiate the learning community, theoretical videos to ground you in the basic theory then three days of intense experiential learning. The programme combines theory, case examples and practical exercises to ensure understanding and application of the Systemic Team Coaching® process.

    Using a carefully designed business simulation, you will experience and practise coaching skills and techniques first-hand, giving and receiving feedback with fellow participants to consolidate your learning.

    Expert faculty in a ratio of 1:9 will provide personal and direct feedback as you test your 'team coaching wings' in this safe practice environment.

    Your learning experience

    Your learning will be supported in a safe, secure and confidential environment.

    The programme’s experiential style allows you to practise coaching skills, take risks and feel confident to learn from your own and others mistakes.

    You will develop valuable connections with your peers on the programme and in our closed LinkedIn Community of Practice to continue your learning.

    Accreditation

    International Coaching Federation (ICF)

    The Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate is accredited with the ICF for 19 CCEs (Continuing Coach Education units) - 3 Resource Development and 16 Core Competency. The hours can be used towards an ICF credential via the portfolio route and the ICF Advanced Certification in Team Coaching.

    Who is the programme for?

    This programme is suitable for:

    • Those who have experience in facilitation, coaching and developing teams, or who have worked in organisational development
    • Team leaders wishing to enhance their management and leadership skills with transformational team coaching
    • Experienced coaches looking to specialise in team and systemic coaching

    People on previous courses have included:

    How many people will be on the course?

    We limit the maximum number of delegates on each virtual course to 18 in order to maintain a minimum faculty/student ratio of 9 delegates per member of faculty. 

    Is this course residential?

    No, this course is not residential. The Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate runs virtually using the Zoom platform. If you choose the hybrid option you will meet in-person for two of the workshops.

    How do I apply?

    You can apply for the Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate online. The programme is available throughout the year.

    Is there any pre-course work?

    There is approximately two hours of pre-course reading / viewing to help get all participants to the same starting point.

    How much does the programme cost?

    The Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate runs repeatedly throughout the year and is offered in different locations. Due to its global nature, please check the price for the time and location of the course you are intending to book.

    What does the programme fee include?

    The hybrid programme price includes all study materials, refreshments and lunch.

    The virtual programme does not include lunch or refreshments.

    Is funding available for my training?

    Although we offer financial help for our more comprehensive core programmes, we are unable to offer discounts on short courses such as the Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate.

    Should you wish to progress to the Systemic Team Coaching® Practitioner Diploma, you can purchase the Certificate and the Diploma together at a discounted rate.

    We are pleased to offer interest-free payment plans for self-funders on the Systemic Team Coaching® Practitioner Diploma.

    John is our CEO and founded the Academy of Executive Coaching in 1999 with one administrator and over the years recruited and collaborated with many talented directors, trainers & administrators to develop AoEC into the prestigious brand it is today.

    With his tireless entrepreneurial spirit, AoEC has become a highly successful international coaching training organisation with professional accreditation from ICF, EMCC, & AC. Previously, he was MD of Gestalt Centre London growing the business fourfold in six years and gaining a Company Director diploma with the Institute of Directors.

    John is a highly principled leader, drawing on and applying his experience from a long career as a Gestalt psychotherapist, executive and team coach, trainer and supervisor. He is past president of EMCC UK where his focus was on maintaining standards for coaching and mentoring and building collaboration between the different professional bodies.

    In 2010, he founded with Peter Hawkins the Systemic Team Coaching programmes. He has an MA in Executive Coaching, is PCC with ICF, qualified supervisor, regular presenter at international conferences and author of Fertile Void, Gestalt Coaching at Work 2014 and co-author of Systemic Team Coaching - 2nd Edition, 2024.     David believes everyone deserves to be led well. His purpose in life is to support leaders and organisations to create conditions for others to flourish and thrive - their people and their stakeholders.David has 30 years experience of leading and developing people and has been coaching individuals and groups since 1998. He has worked with leaders and teams in finance, pharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence, defence, government, healthcare, manufacturing and global tech. David is an AoEC qualified Executive and Systemic Team Coach, credentialled as a PCC level coach with the ICF, and is an Ashridge accredited Coach and Organisational Supervisor. He joined the AoEC faculty in 2016 and has delivered the Practitioner Programme in Switzerland, UK and within global organisations.
