“Since the lockdown, the requirement to work virtually has been something we have all suddenly had to adopt very quickly. I had already taken part in module 1 of the AoEC’s Practitioner Diploma programme, in person, with my colleagues.

Having had this ‘in person’ experience of the interactive style of teaching I couldn’t conceive how this could be maintained in the virtual world. The 2-day session for module 2 was held entirely virtually, using the Zoom platform, with an on-hand IT technician always available to support any problems any of us had. I have to say the experience was excellent and I managed to feel as part of the group training as I did in the face to face session. The technology enabled us to have group discussions as well as to break out into separate rooms to practise and observe coaching.

Nothing was compromised in the learning and in reality it actually enables a further skill set to perform in the virtual world, which perhaps should be considered for future courses when things return to normal.

I’ve been very impressed with what can now be achieved virtually and now very much look forward to completing the programme.”

Michael Sloan, Global Vice President Commercial Operations, Life Science industry

“Participating on the AoEC Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching has been a great investment. The sessions are brilliantly delivered and have provided a wide insight into the range of options available to coaches to maximise relationships with clients. My notebook is full of new learning, much of which I have already begun to practise with my own clients.

The sessions are well paced and provide support for all learning styles. The course facilitators bring their own valuable experiences and individual styles. I am also struck by how well the course has developed teamwork and engagement between participants which again provides for significant learning opportunities as we share our own knowledge through group and individual discussions.

Our most recent module was delivered virtually and this worked very well. The facilitators managed the contributions in a manner that let all contribute, provided regular breaks to manage our energy and engagement levels, shared information on screen and provided for smaller group and 1 to 1 time through the use of breakout rooms…my learning and participation was just as good using the virtual platform.

In summary the course has energised my own development and learning, helped me to engage with peers from other sectors and I will be able to develop my own professional practice as a result”.

“This exceeded my expectations in every way, from the facilitation from Wendy and Trudy to the connection within my peer group, the content we covered and the support that I got from the very beginning to the end.

Everything was flawless – one of the best programmes I have ever attended.

Both Trudy and Wendy are incredibly gifted coaches and inspiring people. I really enjoyed every interaction I had with both of them whether it was during the face to face workshops, tutorials of the 1:1 private calls. They made me feel comfortable from the first day to be myself and really added to the wonderful energy that we had as a peer group. Thank you both so much for everything.”

I can’t believe my personal development in such a short space of time, and how enjoyable and stimulating I found the whole experience. Thank you Wendy, Trudie and gang for starting me on my road of coaching!”

Julie Dowsett – Programme Manager

University College Dublin

“This was an extremely, enlightening, challenging and rewarding course. The facilitators really know their stuff; they are very professional and have a lot of patience – which helps. There were a high number of ‘value-adding’ moments and I find that I am much better equipped and feel re-invigorated as a coach. I would definitely recommend it.”

Our Definition of Coaching

Coaching is about improving leadership and management performance;  it is about using the inherent wisdom and knowledge the coachee has to find their own solutions.

It is about helping people discover, from their background, from their experience, from their own knowledge, their own way forward.
